The new school year is almost here! Make sure your district is prepared with this easy to follow checklist:

  Set up the new Parent Portal in MySchoolBucks

We've got a fresh new look for the school year, including a brand new Parent Portal. This new page gives you the ability to display your logo, a district announcement, and add shortcut links to other areas of MySchoolBucks such as meal payments, your school store, and specific store products. Or, you can link them to any external pages you'd like (e.g. district’s website).

• • Help families stay on top of what's going on at school by logging in and setting up your school district's portal before the new school year begins.

  Rollover your student data

Work with your district office to make sure that all of your student enrollment data is up-to-date for current and new students.

• • If you have a Heartland point of sale, schedule your premium end-of-year or start-of-year rollover
  • If you are not utilizing a Heartland point of sale, please contact us to ensure up-to-date student information.
    
    

  Update your admin staff in MySchoolBucks

Make sure your current and new employees have the appropriate administrative access they need. 

• • Here's how to edit your user privileges:

                      1. Log in to your admin account in MySchoolBucks

                      2. Visit the admin dashboard and select users

                      3. Search for users through the filter tool and make any changes 
 

  Provide training to new or existing staff

Make sure your staff is ready to manage payments through MySchoolBucks and can access the tools and reports they need.

  • Get helpful tips, videos, and best practices with our Power Up training series
  • Take advantage of new MySchoolBucks features to help collect payments faster, which include:
    • If you have fees that are urgent and/or required, you can easily create and assign invoices 
    • Easily generate a pay express button which can be added to your website or in an email to direct visitors to a product or fee in MySchoolBucks 

  Update or add new MySchoolBucks Store products

Make sure all of your existing inventory is accurate and add any additional products for the new school year. The typical start of school fees include:

  • Athletic programs
  • Events

  Access parent communication tools

Reduce cash handling this school year and make sure parents know how to pay online with these free digital communication tools.

• • Social media kit - photos and content to post on your social media platforms
  • Website resources - banners, buttons and announcements for your district site
  • Letter and email templates
  • Logos and QR codes for signage, posters, etc.
  • Phone messaging - mobile notifications and automated phone calls
