As our integrations and partnerships continue to expand, we are excited to highlight one of our key integration partners, Follett, and its powerful product, Follett Destiny.
Destiny offers a range of tools designed to simplify the work of school staff. Destiny Library Manager is a user-friendly system that helps schools manage both print and digital resources, streamline library operations, and support student learning. It features smart automation, safe search tools, comprehensive reporting, and ensures data security and scalability.
Destiny Resource Manager, another offering from Follett, enables K–12 IT leaders to track and manage all devices across their district, providing real-time visibility and built-in help desk tools. This solution streamlines asset management, and supports schools while saving time and costs.
Through our partnership integration, Destiny and MySchoolBucks simplifies the process of making payments for parents through MySchoolBucks, with those payments automatically tracked in Destiny.
Integration in Action
To see how this integration benefits districts in practice, we spoke with Candice Billek, Media Specialist, and Bryan Holley, Data Systems Analyst at Flagler County Schools.
Candice works at Flagler Palm Coast High School which is the district’s largest site serving 2,700 students. In her role, she uses Destiny to manage collecting fees in the media center. When asked how the integration supports her role Candice explained, “It has made it a smoother process for collecting fees for families. Having one place to make payments for fines and fees has streamlined the process and made it more convenient, rather than having to go to multiple platforms to make payments.” She added, “We also set up automatic reminders to go out to families through MySchoolBucks and that has helped us with easier collection, too.”
Regarding the day-to-day impact it has on her job, Candice said “on the media center side we have collected more back due money from missing books or damaged books from students. I believe our bookkeepers would also attest it’s been a smooth process for them having the payments automated rather than having to take cash in-person."
Candice continued to share other unique features that support her school, highlighting how it’s made a difference for seniors, specifically, “it’s helpful for seniors at graduation time. We can collect senior fees before they’re able to graduate. We’re able to collect back- due fines from prior schools like elementary and middle school, too.”
Bryan shared the importance of MySchoolBucks ability to integrate with other platforms for their district. “it’s been critical for us, because we collect a lot of different fees through MySchoolBucks.” He added, “the Destiny integration was easier than most other integrations have been to set up because MySchoolBucks handled most of it. I just had to send over a few things and your team took care of it from there.”
Through this integration of Destiny, Flagler County Schools has collected payments on 452 Fees in the past 12 months – 142 fees paid being just at Flagler Palm Coast High School alone.
