A day dedicated to enjoying a good book and spreading the love of reading nationwide. According to Scholastic, children learn an average of 4,000 to 12,000 new words every year just from reading. With all the benefits that reading brings, the National Education Association (NEA) founded Read Across America in 1998 to help motivate children and teens to read. Now, this annual holiday has even expanded into a year-round program to provide resources for all communities. Check out some of the ways you can celebrate reading today and all year long: [Read More](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/celebrate-read-across-america-day) 0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/celebrate-read-across-america-day#comments-listing) Topics: [free downloads](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/topic/free-downloads) ## [\[Free Downloads\] Fun, family holiday activities for winter break](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/free-downloads-fun-family-holiday-activities-for-winter-break) Posted by [Claire Whelen](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/author/claire-whelen) on Dec 9, 2021 12:34:51 PM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/hubfs/parent-blog-header-winter-content-offers.jpg)](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/msb/free-downloads-fun-family-holiday-activities-for-winter-break) Once your family has the decorations set up and the cookies in the oven, gather round and bring some cheer to your holiday season with our free [Build-A-Buddy Kit](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/hubfs/Build_a_Buddy_Bundle.pdf) and [U-Create Holiday Stories](https://blog.heartlandschoolsolutions.com/hubfs/U-Create_Holiday_Stories-2021.pdf).
