During the season of giving, it's not just about giving gifts to others, it's giving back to those in need. At MySchoolBucks, we celebrate generosity and the power of random acts of kindness during the holiday season and beyond.

Here are a few ways you can give back during the holidays:

Participate in Giving Tuesday
Whether it's a good deed or donating online, join millions of people participating in this global movement of generosity for Giving Tuesday. On November 29, 2022, take some time to spread the goodness and give back to your community. You can find organizations to support in your local area here.

Volunteer your time
Not all donations are monetary giving the gift of your time and energy can be even more impactful! Volunteer your time at a local food kitchen, school fundraiser, animal shelter, or any other charitable organization.

Donate to a clothing drive
During the holiday season and as the weather gets colder, many communities will host clothing drives for those in need. Make time to go through your closets to find items you can donate. It's also a great way to get your kids involved and donate any items they've outgrown this year.

Support your student’s school
Many schools collect donations or host fundraisers, online or in-person, during the holiday season. Consider giving back to your student’s district or your school’s parent organization.

Take lunches to those who work during the holidays
While some are able to enjoy a little break during the holidays, many professions don't always get time off. Medical workers, fire fighters, or retail staff find themselves spending the holidays away from their loved ones. Coordinate with your family and friends to pay for and deliver meals to workers for a nice gesture on special days.

Shop Small® for your holidays gifts
Small businesses are at the core of all communities. When you Shop Small® this holiday season – and all year long – you can help create a big impact. Check out these 8 ways you can Shop Small at the end of the year.

Share with your neighbors
Giving back can start right within your neighborhood. Help a neighbor shovel their driveway or put up holiday decorations. Or, stop over with a small holiday gift or card to spread some cheer and say hello!

Donate to a community-based charity or organization
What better time to give back to your community than during the holidays. Consider donating to a local charity or community group as they raise funds for those most in need.
