Don't Skip Breakfast!

Did you know that breakfast can have many long term health benefits that include: reducing obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes? It also helps keep your energy levels up throughout the day. Breakfast foods are great sources of calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fiber. People who eat breakfast tend to eat healthier overall. Studies show that people who eat breakfast are more physically active in the morning than those who don’t.  It even improves concentration at work and in the classroom. According to the American Dietetic Association, children who eat breakfast perform better in the classroom and on the playground, with better concentration, problem-solving skills, and eye-hand coordination.  Some healthy breakfast options include eggs, Greek yogurt parfaits, fruit, nuts, and oatmeal. Get your day started the right way with a healthy breakfast!
